Topics in Mathematics (M134) has a prerequisite of MATH-M 105 or equivalent. Various topics in mathematics will be covered such as graph theory, logic, mathematics of personal finance, mathematics in music and art, modeling using regression, matrices and Markov chains, geometry, governmental mathematics, game theory and linear programming.

Calculator Recommendation:
Students are allowed to have a TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus C, or TI-84 Plus CE for this course. My personal recommendation would be any of the TI-84 series calculators, with the TI-84 Plus CE being the BEST option, especially if you will be required to take more math classes for your major. |
